Born into a Swedish family of musicians, YOHIO started learning the piano when he was six and immediately began composing. He became acquainted with the guitar at 11. He was spellbound by its fascinating nature, and playing the guitar became a part of his life.
In the summer of 2009, 14-year-old YOHIO founded the Visual Kei band Seremedy and commenced composing songs under the slogan "Beauty and Madness". They held their first concert in Sundsvall, Sweden, on 1 April 2010, and immediately after this, they performed at the largest Japan pop culture convention in Scandinavia, UppCon. On 18 July, they held a concert at the XO-Club in Moscow, and that same month were featured in the Japanese Visual Kei magazine Cure.
In February 2011, Seremedy formed a contract with Ninetone Records/Universal Music. On the 11th, they released their debut song "Bulletproof Roulette". On 8 April, they released the EP "Seasons Will Change", which also included their debut song, and immediately went on their first tour in Japan.
In October and November that year, they performed as opening artist on the largest Visual Kei Festival "V-Rock Fes II", and during that stay in Japan made a second Japan tour, during which YOHIO displayed his skills as lead vocalist for the first time in the song "Without Wings? Sora to yakusoku shita?". YOHIO's looks, his skillful use of the Japanese language, and his miraculous guitar techniques immediately caught on with the sensitive Japanese V-rock fans, and there are already many passionate "groupies". Furthermore, YOHIO has been personally writing a blog in Japanese on Ameblo since February 2009.
